By the Sea is a romance/drama that takes place in France in the mid-1970s. It’s about a couple who are having trouble with their marriage, which is similar to the real-life relationship of the two actors who played the couple. The following year after the movie came out, they announced their separation and started the divorce process.

The Tourist

Angelina Jolie and Johnny Depp were two of the biggest movie stars in the world when The Tourist came out in 2010. This helped make this 2010 romantic thriller a box office hit. Jolie plays Elise Clifton-Ward, a British woman whom the French police are following.

She chooses Depp’s character, Frank Tupelo, to be a patsy for the police. She tells them that Frank Tupelo is her boyfriend, Pearce, who owes a lot of money to the mob and the government in back taxes.

The movie is loosely based on real events and is seen as the untold story of how the CIA’s counter-intelligence department came to be what it is today.

Beyond Borders

I said at the beginning that movies with Angelina Jolie are almost always worth seeing. Well, the word “almost” is important when it comes to Beyond Borders. I wouldn’t call it a bad movie, but Jolie was nominated for a Golden Raspberry Award for this and Lara Croft: Tomb Raider-The Cradle of Life, so it’s not the best.

Still, it’s probably one of her most personal movies because it’s about Jolie’s own desire to help people, so that’s a plus.

At the beginning of the movie, Jolie plays a woman named Sarah who doesn’t care about what’s going on in the rest of the world. But then, a good person named Clive Owen convinces Sarah to go to some of the harshest places on Earth to help people who are in need.

It’s not the best movie ever made, but it has a good heart, and you can tell that Jolie really cares about it. And sometimes that’s all that’s needed.
