Violet Evergarden Season 2: Will It Be Renewed for Another Season?
The anime Violet Evergarden was one of anime culture’s biggest hits of the year. Kana Takase wrote a series of light novels that served as the inspiration for the coming-of-age anime that you’re watching now. On January 11, 2018, the anime premiered on Japanese television networks Tokyo MX, TVA, ABC, BS11, and HTB.
Two years after its premiere, new fans continuously find and praise Violet Evergarden’s cult status in the anime industry. Anime distributors Funimation and Netflix licensed the project, making it available to a global audience. Kyoto Animation is responsible for the show’s animation, as they were also responsible for the acclaimed Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid.
The anime’s first season included 13 episodes, and an OVA episode aired on July 4, 2018. Anime fan favorite Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid was renewed for a second season and will run on the studio’s channel in the summer of 2021. Is it possible that Violet Evergarden will have the same luck? For the second season, fans are eagerly awaiting. We’ve gathered all the information we could find.
Plotline of Violet Evergarden Season 2
Toys that record people’s speech and emotions are known as auto-memory toys. First and foremost, Dr. Companies sell these toys, which Orlando designed to please his wife, to the general public after the mechanism is decoded. Automated memory toys have been modified over time by a variety of organizations to include military-grade features. One of these dolls is Violet Evergarden. Violet soon rises to the top of the auto memory toy charts because of her endearing looks.
We have won the war. It all starts in a hospital bed. The first thing Violet does when she wakes up in the hospital is inquired where Major Gilbert is, the man she spent most of her time learning from and fighting beside. Lieutenant Colonel Hodgins tells him that he was summoned by Major Gilbert and should join him when he visits.
Violet has to get used to everyday life now that the war is finished. As a result, she begins working as a writer after some time (or Automatic Memory Doll as she is called in the anime). Scribes must write letters. But that’s not all; the writers are the ones who best convey the customer’s thoughts and feelings in the letter. Violet encounters many various kinds of love and people’s emotions along the way. As a result, each episode has a new note and a new story.
Is the Anime Going to Have a Second Season?
The series has not yet been renewed for a second season as of June 17, 2022. Fans of Kyoto Animation will recall that it opened its doors on July 18, 2019. Because of this, many of the studio’s works had their release dates pushed back. The business has bounced back in the last few years. Due to these circumstances, Violet Evergarden’s release date was April 24, 2020.
On September 18, 2020, Violet Evergarden’s latest film was released. The Japanese media thought the final movie was the end of the story. The ongoing pandemic, on the other hand, caused yet another delay. There is still no word on whether or not there will be a new season, but the following interview also suggests that we will not.
“Violet Evergarden” has an interview with anime creator Shinichiro Hatta up on its official website, according to Japon Media’s mantan-web:
The culmination of what began as a television series is “Violet Evergarden the Movie.” Despite their best efforts, neither director Ishidate nor author Yoshida can draw anymore. Violet is a woman I’d like you to keep an eye out for. Fans who have seen my work will be able to connect with my thoughts and feelings, which is something I’m looking forward to.
