Aquaman 2 Release Date: Is there a Trailer for Aquaman 2?

Aquaman 2 Release Date

The much-publicized Ezra Miller catastrophe — or fiascos, to be more specific — has caused interest for The Flash to fall to a dangerously low level, but it has never been higher for Warner Bros.’other DCEU projects. Naturally, Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, starring Jason Momoa, is at the top of the list. As a result, DCEU and Jason Momoa fans are likely to have an increasing desire to learn more about the movie, including its cast and release date.

One of only two DCEU films to surpass the $1 billion global box office mark is Aquaman, with 2019’s Joker serving as the other. For the upcoming adventures of the King of Atlantis, everyone has high expectations, as one might expect.

Without further ado, let’s delve into the murky seas of Aquaman 2 because it appears that not even this eagerly awaited DCEU film has been able to escape the studio’s ongoing string of bad luck for quite some time.

Plotting the Plausible Storyline of Aquaman 2

The plot summary for Aquaman 2 states that in order to save both his kingdom and the human world, Arthur Curry, the titular Atlantean superhero, would be forced to form a “uneasy partnership with an unlikely friend.”

Orm, Arthur’s half-Atlantean half-brother, had been defeated and imprisoned by the end of the first movie. In regards to the critically damaged Black Manta, the Atlantis-obsessed Dr. Stephen Shin saved him. According to the brief James Wan showed at Warner Bros. CinemaCon’s presentation, the plot involves Arthur releasing Orm because he needs assistance. After Black Manta, who is affected by and possibly channelling dark energy and has developed beyond his already dangerous abilities, becomes more powerful than the brothers, they will temporarily cease fighting.

Jason Momoa’s fourth appearance as Arthur Curry/Aquaman (after Aquaman, Justice League (both versions), and a very brief cameo in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice) was inevitable given the success of the first film.

Nicole Kidman will return to play Queen Atlanna, the mother who will try to keep her children’s warring brothers in line. Amber Heard dispelled (apparently baseless) reports that she wouldn’t be returning as Mera. Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, who starred in Watchmen, Candyman, and The Matrix Resurrections, will continue to play the vengeance-obsessed David Kane/Black Manta. Indya Moore, who starred in Pose, has been cast as Karshon, a (typically bad) human/shark hybrid from DC comics. Jani Zhao has reportedly agreed to portray the role of Stingray, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Graham McTavish, who played Atlan in the first film for The Witcher, replaced by Vincent Regan as the original ruler of Atlantis.

When will Aquaman 2 Release?

Some of the planned DCEU projects have suffered as a result of the studio’s seemingly never-ending controversy. The movie’s filming was finished in January of this year, and its scheduled release date was anticipated. However, according to a new report by Deadline, the release date of Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, which was originally set for March 17, 2023, has been changed to December 25, 2023. This is because, it seems, the post-production process requires additional time.

The release of Aquaman 2 and all other planned DCEU projects have all experienced delays in the past. The movie was originally scheduled to open in theatres on December 16, 2022, but due to the COVID-19 pandemic’s severe effects on the movie business, the release date was changed to March 2023. If Warner Bros. will adhere to their new Christmas Day release schedule remains to be seen.

The DCEU’s status is still in a cautious state as a result of Warner Bros.’ recent run of actions that have drawn criticism from all over the world, including cancelling Batgirl and moving forward with Ezra Miller as the Flash. Fans can anticipate the appearance of a certain trident-wielding superhero to restore at least some semblance of balance amid the chaos, regardless of how uncertain the future of DC’s cinematic universe may be.
