Starring in it are Zazie Beetz, LaKeith Stanfield, Brian Tyree Henry, and Donald Glover. The show follows Earn as he goes about his daily life in Atlanta, Georgia, trying to make amends with his parents, his cousin Alfred, a rapper who goes by the stage name “Paper Boi,” his eccentric right-hand man Darius, and his ex-girlfriend Van, who is also the mother of his daughter Lottie. Production
Even before the third season of the show began production, it was renewed for a fourth season in August 2019. President of FX Eric Schrier said, “What more can be said about Atlanta than the praise and honours that Donald, Paul Simms, Dianne McGunigle, Stephen Glover, and Hiro Murai have received for the show’s two outstanding seasons, which are unquestionably among the best on television. We are honoured to be their partners in creating one of the most unique, cutting-edge stories of this generation with this team of collaborators and cast.”
FX announced in February 2022 that the fourth season would mark the end of the show. Glover thought about ending the series with the second season, but he decided to do so as a result of “Death is inevitable. I believe that things occur when the circumstances are ideal and do not occur when the circumstances are ideal. I experience no longevity. Because things then start to become strange. The plot was always intended to take place as it did. The story was actually about us. Everyone on set and in that writers’ room. It was genuinely what we were going through and discussing.
“It was great, everything came out this season, and it ends perfectly,” he continued. Despite this, Glover said he might go back and watch the series “Of course, if there is a good reason to do it. similar to a holiday special. It is always a factor. I prefer to have choices.”
Writing
“We’re back in Atlanta again, and it was kind of a homecoming season and it was really lovely,” executive producer Hiro Murai said. We got to properly say goodbye to the city and the programme. I imagine it will also feel a little nostalgic because you haven’t probably seen Atlanta in the summer since season one. It resembles the greatest hits season in some ways.

We know you hated them, Glover said after the divisive response to the anthology episodes from the previous season. It’s okay. I’m really proud of those episodes, and Stephen Glover agreed, saying that many people felt they went against how we normally conduct ourselves. However, I feel as though we have always carried out such activities. I believe there are components and elements of that in Season 4 that perhaps people won’t detest as much this time.
