Black Lagoon Season 4: Does the Series Have Enough Source Material for Next Season?
Sunao Katabuchi helmed the popular anime series Black Lagoon in the mid-2000s. However, over a decade since we last saw the popular action series has been over a decade. The idea of the fourth season of Black Lagoon has piqued fans’ interest, who are growing impatient. Everything we know about the series and whether or not it will be renewed will be covered in this piece.
Mental hospital, a well-known anime studio, is responsible for the series’ anime adaptation. Few studios can claim to have adapted some of the most popular anime series, like Death Note and the first season of One Punch Man, and the 2011 version of Hunter x Hunter. Funimation owns the rights to the entire show.
The Manga series “Black Lagoon” by Rei Hiroe, which began serialization in 2002, is based on the film adaptation of this series. Thirteen episodes each were released in the first and second seasons, both released in 2006. Black Lagoon: The First Barrage and Black Lagoon: The Second Barrage are the names of the two seasons. Comedy shorts were also included in a 2009 special edition of the film.
Four years later, the OVA, or third season as fans affectionately referred to it, was made available. From June 27, 2010, until June 22, 2011, five episodes of Black Lagoon: Roberta’s Blood Trail was shown. OVAs are more extended than conventional anime episodes, clocking in at roughly 33 minutes each. While the first two seasons aired on television, the third was only made available on DVD after the television broadcasts ended.
Season 4 of Black Lagoon Release Date
Although the anime received excellent reviews, it also had issues. Some viewers found the episode enjoyable, but others grumbled about the terrible quality of the animation. Many viewers considered the fan services between action sequences tedious and repetitive.
However, despite these drawbacks, fans have been eagerly anticipating the debut of the show’s fourth season since the third episode aired. However, the fourth season of Black Lagoon has not been approved. However, the show hasn’t been canceled by the production crew.
There is no guarantee that the show will be renewed or canceled at this stage in the process. Because the show’s creators haven’t provided any official updates in seven years, the show’s likelihood will be withdrawn higher. Stay tuned for further information! We’ll keep you updated on whatever it is.
Is There Going to Be a Fourth Season of Black Lagoon?
The prior seasons of the manga series generally received excellent reviews, and the series’ overall viewership was likewise somewhat respectable. On MAL, it has a popularity ranking of #135 and a rating of 8.05 out of 10. Even if the first three seasons of Black Lagoon were huge successes, the central question is: would there be a fourth season? It has been seven years since Madhouse or the show’s developers made any future discoveries.
Of course, the most significant cause of delay is the source material. In addition, the anime’s seven-year absence has been a source of anxiety. As a result, it appears unlikely that Black Lagoon Season 4 will be renewed. I can’t wait to see what’s next for the series!
Characters from Black Lagoon Season 4
Season 4 will see the return of the anime’s main characters.
All of the primary characters are here, including Rokuro Okajima (Rock), Revy (Dutch), Benny (Balalaika), Boris (Mr. Chang), and Shenhua (Shenhua).
Black Lagoon’s: The Plot
Rokuro Okajima, better known as Rock, is the novel’s protagonist, a Japanese businessman. In the wake of an incident involving his firm and the Black Lagoon pirate mercenary gang, he decided to leave his salaried job and join the group. This novel takes place mainly in the fictional Thai city of Roanapur, where the mercenary group has its headquarters.
A metropolis full of mercenaries and mafias where he worked as a member of The Lagoon Company has left Rock with a difficult adjustment to make. In addition to him, the group consists of three other people. Two-Handed Revy (also known as “Two-Hands”), Benny (the electronics specialist and navigator), and Dutch (the leader and a former US Navy captain).
Does the Black Lagoon Series Have Enough Source Material?
The answer is no, and there isn’t enough material to make a fourth show season. As previously stated, the show is based on a book of the same name. There are over 100 chapters throughout the author’s 11 books. Until the ninth edition, all the chapters from the first three parts of the series have been covered.
There are now only two more volumes remaining for the creators, which is insufficient. Keep an eye out for new information! Season 4 would necessitate the creation of at least one additional book.
