It was revealed on March 26th, 2019 that the series debut date is slated for May 21st, 2019.

CBS renewed the show for a second season on June 26, 2019. The series will move from CBS to Paramount+, where it will launch on July 17 with two new episodes with the remaining episodes airing every week, according to a report from May 17, 2022.

On March 12, 2018, it was revealed that series regular roles had been cast for Katia Winter, Michael James Shaw, and James Callis.  It was announced on May 18th, 2018, that Sofia Pernas had joined the main cast in the role of the lead female. The series’ lead male part had been cast, and Matt Barr was revealed to have been chosen on June 15, 2018. On July 25, 2018, Alicia Coppola was said to have joined the main cast. Anna Silk was announced to have been cast in a recurring role on August 28, 2018. For the second season, Paget Brewster was cast on January 31, 2020, but the COVID-19 pandemic prevented her from appearing, thus Francesca Romana De Martini took her place.

Filming
