What Happened on “Call the Midwife” in Season 11?

Call the Midwife has shown over the years that it’s more than just a fluffy Sunday night show about babies. It’s not afraid to talk about complex or emotional topics, either.

Jenny Agutter, who plays Sister Julienne, gave hints about the next season… “It’s 1967, and we’re already well into our 60s. People have higher expectations, which I think Sister Julienne is trying to address. She is thankful for everything because she lived through both World Wars, but she also knows that some of these things may cause problems on their own. Helen George, who plays Trixie, has also hinted that the relationship between her character and Matthew might get stronger this Season… “It will be interesting to see how Matthew’s relationship develops since their first meeting was awful since Trixie was there when his wife was born and when she died. So, it is a sad story that has been told sensitively.

“You can see that Trixie and Matthew are getting closer, and the bond they formed after going through something big is clear. Seeing the trust, friendship, and support that grows between people.”
