Hit-and-run Season 2: Will the Series be Renewed for Season 2? Check All Details Here

The premiere of the first season of the original Netflix thriller “Hit & Run” occurred on August 6. Still, the series has already become one of the most popular new offerings on the streaming service. It has established itself among the top 10 most-watched series on Netflix, and there are undoubtedly many people eagerly anticipating a potential Season 2 release.

The series focuses on an Israeli guy named Segev (Lior Raz), devastated when his wife Danielle (Kaelen Ohm) is killed in a hit-and-run tragedy. However, his astonishment at Danielle’s death pales compared to what he feels when he begins to explore who killed her and why.

Not only does Segev discover that Danielle’s murder was no accident, but as his inquiry leads him to Danielle’s house in New York City, he realizes that the woman he married was not the person he believed her to be.

There are many unanswered questions towards the conclusion of Season 1’s plot, which is full of unexpected turns and surprising revelations. So, when can we expect a hypothetical Season 2, who could return for the following part, and where could the story go? Let’s examine what we know about Season 2 of “Hit & Run.”

Will Hit & Run Get Renewed for a Second Season?

Hit-and-Run Season 2

Netflix has not yet confirmed a second season of “Hit & Run” as of the writing of this article. However, there is no reason to panic. It’s not uncommon for Netflix to wait weeks or even months before announcing the renewal of an original series.

However, the streaming service occasionally offers original shows an instant order for additional episodes. And there are other reasons to believe that a second season of “Hit & Run” is inevitable.

As we’ve already said, “Hit & Run” has had a successful launch that will likely earn it a high score. In addition, the series was created by Lior Raz and Avi Issacharoff, whose Netflix blockbuster political thriller “Fauda” ran for multiple seasons.

They co-developed “Hit & Run” with Dawn Prestwich and Nicole Yorkin, who has worked on shows such as the cult classic “Carnivàle” and “The Killing,” whose final season aired exclusively on Netflix. Fans of “Hit & Run” should be enthusiastic about the song’s prospects, given its early solid traction and the presence of a team of veteran hitmakers.

So, assuming that “Hit & Run” is renewed for a second season, when will it premiere? Given the number of unknown variables, it isn’t easy to predict. Season 1 was initially announced in 2018 (via Deadline) yet did not begin airing until 2021, three years later.

However, that does not imply that Season 2 will take that long to premiere. “Fauda” has released a new season around every two years. Thus, “Hit & Run” will likely follow a similar release schedule. If “Hit & Run” is renewed, we anticipate the second season to premiere in 2023.

Who Will Return for Season 2 of Hit & Run?

Hit-and-Run Season 2

No one is completely secure since “Hit & Run” is a legitimate espionage thriller. Consequently, it is natural that the first season saw the deaths of several key people. Although the program uses flashbacks to develop its plot, it’s safe to assume that most of the characters who perished in Season 1 will not return in subsequent seasons.

However, this still leaves us with some still alive characters as the final episode’s credits ran. Segev, Naomi, Tali, and “Martin” (there’s some vagueness, but we’re going out on a limb and assuming he’s still alive) will all likely play significant roles in Season 2, which means that Lior Raz, Sanaa Lathan, Moran Rosenblatt, and Gregg Henry will all return.

Unanswered is whether or not Kaelen Ohm will reprise her role as “Danielle.” Due to flashbacks that elaborated on the character’s hidden double life, “Danielle” continued to appear frequently in Season 1, although her death catalyzes the action.

However, we’ve already learned quite a bit about her in Season 1, and as the season finale’s cliffhanger suggests, Segev now has to deal with some pressing immediate issues. This may indicate that Season 2 would devote less time to “Danielle’s” past.

Ohm appears to be the core cast member least likely to return for Season 2 or have a severely reduced role.

How Season 2 of Hit & Run Could Continue the Series’ Storyline

The first season of “Hit & Run” ended in a completely different position than it began. What began as a man’s investigation into his wife’s sudden death morphed into a convoluted narrative of international espionage.

By the end of Season 1, Segev discovered that the woman he believed to be his wife, “Danielle,” was a CIA agent named Sophie who had unearthed a spying scheme that might have significant repercussions US-Israeli relations. In the last minutes of the finale, he also discovered that his ex-wife Shira had been murdered and that his daughter Ella (Moran Rosenblatt) was gone.

It is difficult to predict precisely where the second season of “Hit & Run” will lead viewers. However, now that Segev has discovered the truth about his wife’s identity, learned the secrets she was most likely murdered over, and become personally embroiled in a dangerous international conspiracy, we suspect that Season 2 will shift away from “Danielle’s” mysterious death and focus more on the immediate plot.

Perhaps, in the same way that “Danielle’s” murder was the central plot of Season 1, Ella’s abduction will play a similar role in Season 2. Nevertheless, this is all supposition at the moment. If (or more likely, when) Netflix renews “Hit & Run” for a second season, we will have to wait and see what surprises it has in store for its viewers.
