In 2019, the video streaming platform added a few new shows to get more people to watch them. One of them is “Human Discoveries,” a cartoon in the Stone Age. “Human Discoveries,” an animated comedy show, takes us back to the beginning of civilization.

It was made by Chris Bruno and David Howard Lee and co-produced by ShadowMachine (“BoJack Horseman,” “Pinocchio,” and “Robot Chicken”) and Ninjas Runnin’ Wild. The show will join other animated shows on Facebook Watch, such as “Liver spots and Astronauts” and “Human Kind Of.”

Zac Efron, Anna Kendrick, Lamorne Morris, Jillian Bell, Paul Scheer, and Lisa Kudrow are all in the talented cast of “Human Discoveries.” Efron and Kendrick are the voice actors for two of the main characters. The two of them have already worked as voice actors in the past.

Efron lends his voice to Universal’s animated version of Dr. Seuss’s “The Lorax,” while Kendrick lends her voice to Princess Poppy in the “Trolls” series from DreamWorks Animation. Scheer plays the part of a hunter with a lot of muscle. If Facebook decides to keep the show going, all the people who do the voices are likely to come back.

When Will, the Season 2 of Human Discoveries, Come Out?

The first “Human Discoveries” season began on Facebook Watch on July 16, 2019. It’s part of the video-on-demand streaming platform’s plan to make original content that builds a fan base through social features like Groups and Watch Parties.

Matthew Henick, who is in charge of planning and strategy for content at Facebook, says, “Investing in content that leads to meaningful interactions is at the heart of our strategy.” He also said, “Shows like ‘The Real World’ and ‘Human Discoveries‘ have the potential to be talked about and immersive. Their ideas make it possible to use Facebook’s social network in new and interesting ways.”

Statistics from 2018 show that 75 million Facebook users worldwide spend at least one minute a day on Facebook Watch. This adds up to about 20 minutes of video streamed every day. Even though the platform isn’t growing as fast as Hulu, Netflix, or Amazon, we are sure that it will soon be big enough to compete with them.

We haven’t heard anything official from the creators about whether or not the show will be renewed. Since shows like “Sorry for Your Loss” have done well, it’s not hard to imagine “Human Discoveries” following in their footsteps and getting renewed.

What’s the Plot of Human Discoveries?

Human discoveries season 2

The story is about a group of friends trying to make a living at the start of human civilization. For the first time in history, they find art, alcohol, fashion, racism, gossip, and monogamy some of humanity’s best and worst creations. As the episodes go on, we see how they find fire and the wheel, two essential things they need to survive.

When we look at some modern quirks through a prehistoric lens, we see that these fictional characters get their first hangover after drinking rotten grape juice. It’s also interesting to see how confused they get when they hear about monogamy.

The show took place 10,000 years ago, and in its funny way, it shows how our early ancestors tried to figure out the rules of the first society and deal with its many problems. Somehow, the problems they face are similar to problems people face today.

For example, let other people be jealous when they vacation, get drunk at wild parties and spend more than planned the next day. There are also problems with treating men and women equally. Overall, it sounds like social commentary without a severe tone.

Since the show takes place in prehistoric times, it can continue to show how people became civilized. So, if it gets renewed for a second season, many new things could happen.
