Now, he seems to have ended their friendship for good by shading Blanco’s music.

The recent drama between Justin Bieber and Benny Blanco started over the weekend when the pop star reposted a pointed video on his Instagram Story. The clip features content creator Sven Johnson poking fun at celebrities for how they talk about the making of their hit singles. Since many artists often claim their biggest hits were accidental, Johnson mocked this casual attitude during interviews by imitating a funny voice and saying things like, “I literally had no idea what I was doing,” and “I literally didn’t even try.”
While the influencer’s joke could apply to any artist, fans are convinced Johnson was imitating Blanco. The main reason? A particular story he shared about working with Kesha. “On that song we were working with Kesha, she could only be in the studio for 13 seconds, so we recorded the entire song in 13 seconds,” Johnson said.

Benny Blanco shared a similar story back in March. In an interview with Daniel Wall, the record producer talked about creating Kesha’s hit single “We R Who We R.” He explained that he had limited time to finish the track. After realizing Kesha hadn’t recorded a bridge, Blanco had to improvise quickly to meet the deadline. Since no further vocals were available, he reused lyrics from one of her verses to form the bridge, which ended up becoming the song’s most memorable part. “Isn’t that crazy?” Blanco said after sharing the anecdote.
Blanco also told Wall other behind-the-scenes stories about making “Moves Like Jagger” with Maroon 5 and “Dynamite” with Taio Cruz. Due to these similarities, fans believe Justin Bieber’s Instagram repost was definitely aimed at Blanco.
Fans Claim the Singer Is Still “Obsessed” With Selena Gomez
Many think Bieber’s reactions stem from feeling upset about Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco’s relationship. However, fans argue he should have moved on, especially since he is now married and a father. “Why is he still not over Selena?” one fan questioned. Another added, “Imagine being a father of a child and still obsessed with your ex.” A third comment read, “That man needs serious help.”
Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez had an on-and-off relationship lasting nearly a decade. After officially ending things in March 2018, Bieber got engaged to Hailey Bieber in July of the same year and married her that September. Despite their split, Bieber and Gomez referenced each other in their music for years afterward. Additionally, there were rumors of online clashes between Gomez and Bieber’s wife.
Fans hoped the drama would die down when Gomez announced her engagement to Blanco in December 2024, but it didn’t. Bieber was accused of ridiculing the couple’s engagement with a Gollum meme, and now it appears he is taking shots at Blanco’s music career.
Clearly, Justin Bieber is not pleased with the idea of Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco being together.
