Season 14 Reunion Recap
Married at First Sight, a popular reality show on Lifetime has ended its 14th season with a two-part reunion, the first half of which aired yesterday, May 18. Season 14 started in January of this year, and it has been about five couples matched by relationship experts who got married right away (…at first sight). They then spent eight weeks together to get to know each other and build a relationship before Decision Day, when they had to decide if they would stay together or not.
MAFS Season 14 took place in Boston, and there were five couples: Jasmina and Michael, Katina and Olajuwon, Lindsay and Mark, Noi and Steve, and Alyssa and Chris. Each team went through hard times and good times during the season, but only a few could stay together (and lack of cameras). What did each couple do during the juicy and dramatic reunion special? Which couples stuck together and which gave up for good?
Spoilers for the Season 14 reunion (Part 1) of Married at First Sight are coming up.
Jasmina & Michael
Even though these two did make it past Decision Day, the reunion showed how hard it was to get to that point. Jasmina and Michael barely spoke to each other for the first month of their marriage because they had trouble communicating.

Things got better when they had to be honest with each other in a couples’ exercise, but it turned out that this wasn’t enough to keep them together for the long haul. After Decision Day, the two realized they weren’t putting the same amount of effort into their relationship. Jasmina admitted she saw Michael more as a friend than a romantic partner. The two people who used to be together are dating again, and it seems like there is no bad blood between them.
Katina & Olajuwon
Katina and Olajuwon were other couples who made it past Decision Day. They came on the show with different goals: Katina wanted to work and finish school, while Olajuwon wanted a “traditional” wife who would stay home and cook and clean.
Many of Olajuwon’s fans complained on Twitter about how he talked down and treated his new wife, but Katina kept giving him chances. No matter what the viewers thought, the two seemed to be going strong at the reunion. This was shown by Olajuwon’s willingness to admit his past mistakes and reaffirm their love with a second proposal and a brand new, massive ring.
Lindsay & Mark
Lindsay and Mark got off to a good start, but the longer they were together, the more problems they ran into. Lindsay thought that Mark changed when the cameras were on, and Mark didn’t like how blunt his ex-wife was. Once they moved in together, things quickly went downhill.

Lindsay and Mark made it past Decision Day, but they are no longer together. If the reunion indicates, they did not split up as friends. They fought more and ran into other problems that worsened the relationship.
Noi & Steve
On Decision Day, the couple who seemed most likely to stay together is still married. Even though Noi is not yet called Noi Moi, she appears to be on the same page with her husband in other ways after talking about some of her worries about Steve’s finances and stability (worries provoked by the fact that Steve does not currently have a full-time job). Most of the time, they now live together, and they are even thinking about trying to start their own family within the following year.
Alyssa & Chris
Alyssa and Chris were the only couples that didn’t make it past Decision Day. They were together for only two weeks before everything fell apart. Even if you only go on your honeymoon because you thought it was required for the show, that’s a bad sign (as was the case for Alyssa, who also repeatedly bad-mouthed Chris on camera).
The couple who broke up said that going their separate ways was the right choice, and we agreed. From the start, they weren’t compatible physically, spiritually, or emotionally.
