The Most Expensive Private Yachts

History Supreme – USD 4.8 billion

History Supreme is the most expensive yacht in the world. Stuart Hughes made it for a Malaysian businessman who asked to remain anonymous. Reports say that the businessman might be Robert Kuok, who started the Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts chain and is estimated by Forbes to be worth USD 12 billion.

Most Expensive Yacht

It took three years to finish the 30-meter yacht, and around 100,000 kg of solid gold and platinum were used to build this expensive boat. One crucial place where gold was used is on the boat’s base, with a thin sheet of yellow metal wrapped around it. The deck, railings, dining area, and anchor have miniature golf.

In the main sleeping quarters of the yacht, there is a natural T-Rex dinosaur bone mounted on a wall made of meteoric stone.

Eclipse — USD 1.5 Billion

Eclipse is a superyacht that is 162.5 meters long. It is one of the most expensive private yachts in the world. It is owned by Roman Abramovich, who used to run Chelsea and is now a billionaire Russian oligarch.

Most Expensive Yacht

The primary suite on Eclipse is safe because it has a system that can find missiles and windows that bullets can’t break. The yacht Abramovich bought in 2010 can go as fast as 21 knots and 6,000 nautical miles on a full tank. Blohm+Voss in Germany built the ship, which Terry Disdale designed.

After Russia invaded Ukraine, the UK put sanctions on Abramovich. After that, his yacht was said to have been seen in Turkey, where it couldn’t be seized.

It was the biggest yacht in the world until 2013, when Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE and Emir of Abu Dhabi, bought the superyacht, Azzam.

Azzam — USD 650 million

The 179-meter-long boat is the largest private yacht in the world. It has held this title since 2013.

Most Expensive Yacht

The boat was made by the German company Lürssen Yachts. It is a beautiful work of art that combines luxury and technology. Like Eclipse, Azzam has a missile defense system and a primary suite safe from bullets. It is so well balanced that even when the boat is going as fast as it can, the chandelier inside doesn’t shake. It is also one of the fastest yachts in the world, reaching 30 knots thanks to the 35,048 kW of power from its four engines.

Christophe Leoni, a French interior designer, worked on the inside of Azzam, and Nauta Yacht made the outside.

A+ – USD 527 million

A+, which used to be called Topaz, is another of Lürssen’s fancy yachts. Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the UAE’s Deputy Prime Minister, owns Azzam and A+.

Most Expensive Yacht

Tim Heywood designed the boat’s outside, launched in 2012. Terence Disdale’s firm, Terence Disdale Design, worked on the boat’s beautiful interior.

It is 147 meters long and can go as fast as 23 knots on its 7,990hp engine. Two diesel generators power the stabilizers and all the other systems on board.

Motor Yacht A — USD 440 million

Andrey Melnichenko, a Russian billionaire, is said to own Motor Yacht A, one of the world’s largest yachts.

The yacht’s exterior looks like a stealth warship, specifically the US Navy’s Zumwalt-class destroyer. This is something that makes it stand out. It was created by Blohm+Voss and designed by Martin Francis and Philippe Starck. It came out in 2008.

Most Expensive Yacht

The length of Motor Yacht A is 122 meters. The size of the primary bedroom is 232 square meters. The ship is one of the largest luxury yachts and has two swimming pools and a glass-bottomed pool above a disco. The yacht also has a hangar for a helicopter and a speedboat that is about nine meters long. Also, the walls between the six guest suites can be moved so that four large staterooms can be made.

Dubai — USD 400 million

Most wealthy yacht owners live in the UAE, and Dubai, named after one of the largest cities in that country, is no different.
Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Prime Minister of the UAE and the ruler of Dubai, are said to own Dubai. Blohm+Voss built the yacht in 2006, and Prince Jefri Bolkiah of Brunei was the one who first asked for it.

Most Expensive Yacht

The boat is 161.8 meters long. It is one of the most luxurious yachts in the world. It has a mosaic swimming pool, several sunbathing areas and jacuzzis, a split-level owner’s deck, a helipad, and a circular glass staircase that changes color when lit from above. The interior was designed by Platinum Yachts, and Andrew Winch made the outside.

Serene — USD 330 million

Mohammed bin Salman is one of the most influential people in the world. He is the Crown Prince of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. His yacht, Serene, has powerful engines that perfectly match the global status of its royal owner.

Most Expensive Yacht

Serene has eight diesel-electric MTU 2,828hp engines, which allow the boat to go as fast as 25 knots. On a full 800,000-liter tank, it can go 15 knots for 6,000 nautical miles.

The Italian shipbuilder Fincantieri made Yuri Shefler’s superyacht, which is 133.9 meters long, in 2011. Espen Oeino designed the outside, and Reymond Langton Design worked on the inside. It is unclear when the Saudi royal bought it from Shefler, but he is said to have paid 500 million euros for it (USD 330 million).

In terms of comfort, the ship is known as the “Floating Palace.” This is because it has everything other expensive yachts have and much more. It has many luxurious features, such as a snow room, a steam room, an outdoor movie theatre, a pool with seawater, a Hammam beauty center, a piano room, an observation room, a beach club, and a dance floor. Inside the boat, there is also a room with a window that lets you see marine life.

Bill Gates, a billionaire, was one of the most well-known people who rented the ship before the Saudi Crown Prince bought it. Gates rented it for USD 5 million per week.

Radiant — USD 320 million

Abdulla Al Futtaim, a businessman from the UAE, owns Radiant. Tim Heywood designed the outside, and Glen Pushelburg did the inside. Lürssen built it in 2009.

Most Expensive Yacht

The Radiant is 110 meters long and can go as fast as 21 knots, thanks to its two 8,715hp MTU diesel engines. The outside is made of aluminum, but the decks are made of teak wood. Like other superyachts of its kind, Radiant has a beach club, a massage room, and swimming pools to ensure its guests are comfortable.

One of its unique features is a water cannon that can be used to fight pirates, a big problem in the waters near Somalia.

Al Said — USD 300 million

Al Said is the biggest superyacht in the world. It weighs 15,850 tonnes. The ship is 154 meters long and was made by Lürssen in 2008. Espen Oeino designed the outside of the boat, but RWD was in charge of the inside.

Most Expensive Yacht

The yacht is thought to be owned by an unnamed Omani royal. It was named after the late Sultan of Oman, Qaboos Bin Said Al Said. We don’t know much about its luxurious amenities, but we do know that it has a concert hall that can fit a 50-piece orchestra.

The Al Said has two diesel MTU engines with a total of 11,149 horsepower, which gives it a top cruise speed of 25 knots.

Pelorus — USD 300 million

Pelorus is in a different league. It is one of the largest yachts in the world, and Lürssen made it in 2003. Its current owner, Hong Kong property magnate and billionaire Samuel Tak Lee bought it from an unnamed member of the royal family of the UAE.

Most Expensive Yacht

The ship is 115 meters long and was named after the Greek word porous, which means “vast.” Terence Disdale made the inside, and Tim Heywood produced the outside.

The boat can go as fast as 20 knots with its two Wartsila engines. One of the most exciting things about it is that the main bedroom has a deck that can’t be seen anywhere else on the boat.

Many different people in the past have owned Pelorus. It used to belong to American movie mogul David Geffen. Before that, it was owned by a Saudi Arabian businessman who sold it to Roman Abramovich.

John Terry and Frank Lampard, two legends of Chelsea FC, were among the famous people who went on vacation on the Pelorus when Abramovich owned it.

Who Owns the World’s Most Expensive Yacht?

History: The most expensive yacht in the world is owned by a Malaysian businessman named Robert Kuok, who is thought to be the founder of Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts.

Why Does a Yacht Cost So Much?

Most of the cost of a yacht comes from the materials that went into making it. For example, the History Supreme has parts that are made of gold and platinum. No other ship uses silver and gold as much as the History Supreme does.

A boat’s price is also based on its technology and many high-end features. For example, both Eclipse and Azzam have systems to protect against missiles. Also, the second yacht is one of the fastest in the world.

On the other hand, Serene has amenities for its guests that most of the most expensive yachts can’t match.

Who Owns the Most Expensive Yacht and Why?

As was already said, Malaysian businessman Robert Kuok is thought to be the owner of the most expensive yacht. But most mega yacht owners are from the Gulf, especially the UAE and Saudi Arabia.
