Star Trek Picard Season 3: What Is the Scheduled Premiere Date?
This time, it’s the “Next Generation” crew. A new season 3 teaser for Star Trek: Picard has been released in honour of Star Trek Day, months after the original teaser and poster were unveiled at the San Diego Comic-Con.
Picard’s third and last season will broadcast on Paramount Plus in 2023, and to promote it, actors Patrick Stewart and Gates McFadden appeared onstage together.
This season, according to Alex Kurtzman, the show’s executive producer, Picard will have to go on a mission to track down and reassemble his dispersed former crew. To avoid spoilers, he stated, “I won’t say much other to say that she’s great,” in reference to the film’s antagonist in the third episode.
Plot
After the season two conclusion, Patrick Stewart gave EW an interview in which he dropped hints about the Next Generation cast’s return in season three.
What’s coming up in season three I think is extremely fascinating, and of course, a lot of it will involve the way that the characters we’ve known for so long have matured. “We will meet them, but it’s not a reassembling at all. It’s not simply a reunion. Everybody has a function,” the producer teased.
Details on the plot are still scarce, although Stewart has hinted that Season 3 may be the best yet.
For example, “When I read for the first time the ending of season two, one of the things that I remarked was, ‘Where the hell are we going to go from here?’ because it almost felt that there was a finish,” he added.
A part of me thought, “Oh no, are we going to be wrapped early, and the show will go”; nevertheless, we did not, and season three provided some of the show’s most compelling content.
But after that, who knows what will happen? After the last batch of episodes, Sir Patrick made some comments that seemed to bring an end to the world.
Picard “may have delivered his final words and taken his last look at his colleagues,” he told Variety. The way we ended season three was fantastic, and it made me cry every time I thought about it.
Cast
Fans of the Star Trek franchise have been wondering ever since Picard’s announcement if this will finally be their chance to see the cast of Star Trek: The Next Generation reunion. Brent Spiner reprised his role as Data and also returned as Altan and Adam Soong.
It’s a reunion for the ages in season 3 of Star Trek: The Next Generation, with the whole ensemble reuniting.
Wil Wheaton’s absence from the TNG reunion announcement caused some uproar. Wheaton, who played Wesley Crusher, the son of Dr. Crusher, was a major player in the show’s first several seasons.
Wheaton, who presently hosts the Ready Room aftershow, said nothing about feeling left out until the Picard season 2 finale showed that Wesley was back in his position as the Traveler, picking up where his character left off in the series’ final TNG episode.

Release Date
As of the 12th of February, 2023, fans of Star Trek: Picard can rest easy knowing that the series’ third and final season will be arriving soon after. New teaser trailer alongside the announcement (more on that below).
As was noted, filming season three right after season two was difficult for everyone involved, especially Patrick Stewart.
The fan-favorite captain told Variety after the season two finale that production on season three ended in March of 2022. Sir Patrick acknowledged that, five weeks later, he was “still suffering from it.” giving us reason to anticipate the future with great anticipation.
It was a “quite heated” battle, as Sir Patrick put it. “We recorded the ten episodes of season two and finished up about seven in the evening, and we started filming season three around seven in the morning. And it lasted like that for approximately 13 months, I suppose. Longer than a year, I know that.”
Trailer
On the Star Trek Day panel for Star Trek: Picard, Patrick Stewart debuted the first official trailer for the upcoming third season. We get emotional every time we see the whole TNG cast together. Even more exciting for fans is the fact that newly minted Starfleet officer Seven of Nine uses Picard’s famous “engage” command.
