Strange New Worlds Season 2: It Will Be Renewed or Not?

Sci-fi fans, get excited: Star Trek: Strange New Worlds is getting a new season. Season One got a 98% rating on Rotten Tomatoes and was liked by fans and critics. Now that it’s over, we’re already thinking about what might happen in Season Two, so get ready for Season One finale spoilers. Luckily, the cast and crew are talking to find out more.

In this prequel to Star Trek: The Original Series, Anson Mount plays Captain Christopher Pike while in charge of the famous U.S.S. Enterprise (Mount also played Pike in Star Trek: Discovery). It is a prequel to The Original Series because it takes place seven years before Kirk and Spock meet for the first time.

It’s also a continuation of Star Trek: Discovery, with some of the same characters going on another mission with new people. Can we expect Season Two to have the same kind of sci-fi thrills? Read on to discover what we know about Strange New Worlds’s future.

Release Date

According to esquire, Season Two is done being made, and it will come out in 2023. No one knows when the new episodes will come out next year, but we’ll keep this space up to date as more information comes out.

Plotline

What will happen to Commander Chin-Riley? That was the big question at the end of the first season of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds. Earlier in the series, it was shown that the character wasn’t human but Illyrian, a race that can’t join Starfleet. In the last episode, the Commander was caught hiding who she was and taken off the Enterprise.

How Captain Pike handles this, and whether or not this makes room for Spock to become the new first officer, will probably be a big part of the second season of Strange New Worlds.

Strange New Worlds Season 2

Also, we know that the younger version of Captain James T. Kirk, played by Paul Wesley, will have a more significant role in season 2 of Strange New Worlds. This could mean that this is the first time people get a good look at how Kirk and Spock’s relationship starts before it grows into what we see in The Original Series.

Audiences should also expect that some supporting characters will grow and change more. Lieutenant Ortegas, played by Melissa Navia, was in the first season of Strange New Worlds, but she never had a significant role. Don’t be surprised if the character gets an episode that focuses on getting to know her better.

Finally, it has been confirmed that one episode of season 2 of Strange New Worlds will be a crossover with Star Trek’s animated comedy show Lower Decks. In one episode of the season, some people who voice the characters in Lower Decks will appear in real life. We think this will have something to do with time travel, but we don’t know much about the crossover. Only that it will be a lot of fun is something we know for sure.

Cast Members

Bruce Horak, who plays Chief Engineer Hemmer, will likely not be in season 2 of Strange New Worlds. The character was killed off without much fanfare at the end of the first season of Strange New Worlds, so we’ve likely seen the last of him on the show (but, as always, this is science fiction). The unexpected will happen).

Strange New Worlds Season 2

The main characters from Strange New Worlds all survived except for Horak. This means we can expect them all to come back, along with some new people, since the job of Chief Engineer is now open.

James T. Kirk, played by Paul Wesley, will be back in the new season, and it looks like he will have a more significant part. But don’t expect him to join the main cast just yet. Sam Kirk, the character’s unfortunate brother, will also return in a guest role, along with André Dae Kim as Transporter Chief Kyle and Adrian Holmes as Admiral April.

Jack Quaid, Tawny Newsome, and possibly other voice actors from Lower Decks will also appear as guests in the much-anticipated crossover episode.

When we talk about the crossover, we would be remiss if we didn’t mention that Jonathan Frakes will come back to Star Trek to direct the episode.
