Development of The Empress Season 2
Netflix revealed in December 2020 that a six-part drama series with the working title The Empress, based on the life of the Austrian Empress Elisabeth of Bavaria, also known as Sisi, was ready to go into production. Bernd Lange and Jana Nandzik would write the series, which Katrin Gebbe and Florian Cossen would direct. It was revealed that Devrim Lingnau and Philip Froissant had been chosen for the starring parts.
