Kevin Spacey Fowler was born in South Orange, New Jersey, to secretary Kathleen Ann and technical writer and data consultant Thomas Geoffrey Fowler. When he was four years old, his family moved to Southern California. Spacey has an elder brother, Randy Fowler, from whom he is estranged. His brother has alleged that his father was sexually and physically violent, describing him as a racist “Nazi supporter,” and that Spacey shut down emotionally and became “extremely clever and brilliant” to avoid beatings. In the tenth and eleventh grades, Spacey attended Northridge Military Academy and Canoga Park High School.
