Kevin Ware is a retired American basketball player who played for the Washington Redskins and San Francisco 49ers in the NFL. He’s been a tight end since the beginning of his career. The disappearance and death of Kevin’s ex-girlfriend, Taylor Pomaski, have put him in the spotlight.
Early Life
On September 30th, 1980, Kevin was born in San Diego, California, United States. He grew up in the city, played basketball, and comes from a black family. Even though he hasn’t revealed much about his upbringing or parents, it’s widely assumed that he’s a Christian.
Kevin went to Klein Oak High School in Texas for his final two years of high school and then transferred to the University of Washington to continue his basketball studies and career. He has not divulged any information about his educational background.
Kevin Ware’s Professional Life
Kevin was a member of the school basketball team throughout high school, where he learned a great deal about the game and maintained excellent records. He went on to play college basketball at the University of Washington, where he was a member of the Huskies’ squad.
When he was a student at the university, he was a member of the squad that competed in various national competitions and won several matches. After graduating from college, he began pursuing a job in the business world. The Washington Redskins drafted him in the third round of the NFL draught in 2003.
In his first season, Ware played only a few minutes. After Peyton Siva or Russ Smith was hurt, he started getting more time as Louisville’s first guard off the bench to help. Ware, on the other hand, had some problems with his behavior. On March 31, 2013, in the first half of an Elite 8 game against Duke, Ware fell awkwardly on his right leg when he tried to block a shot. This caused an open fracture that protruded several inches out of his shin, which required surgery. Rick Pitino suspended him for a game against Pittsburgh because of this. Injuries to players and coaches on both teams made everyone feel very sad.
Ware said, “I’m fine. Just win the game.” After being cared for on the court for a few minutes, Ware was taken to Methodist Hospital of Indianapolis by ambulance.
Surgeons took two hours to put a rod in his tibia. Louisville beat Duke 85â63 in a game the players played for Ware. Chane Behanan, a forward for Louisville, wore Ware’s jersey at the end of the game as a show of support for his friend.
People in the NBA sent messages of support and condolence to Ware on Twitter, including LeBron James and Carmelo Anthony. Kobe Bryant and Kevin Durant also did this. Joe Theismann, a former quarterback in the NFL, and Michael Bush, a former running back for the Louisville Cardinals, both had the same kind of injury.
They called to show their support for each other. Ware went with the team to the Final Four in Atlanta, where he sat next to his teammates as they won the championship game.
Ware made his first appearance in a competitive basketball game against the University of Pikeville during an exhibition game. He came on in the middle of the second half. Ware got a standing ovation when he came on and another when he made his first shot. He finished the game with six points and four rebounds. He played nine games that year.
On November 25, 2016, Ware signed with the Czech team BC Brno. He had been with the Finnish team Kauhajoen Karhu for the start of the season.
The Greek Basket League added Ware on July 30, 2017.
He scored 12.4 points, grabbed 4.5% of the rebounds, and gave out 1.8% of the assists for Faros Larissa. On August 29, 2018, he signed with the London Lightning of the National Basketball League of Canada, which is in the United States.
