Early Life

At the ripe old age of 47, Matthew Kenneth Rhule was born in New York, New York on January 31, 1975. A product of the union between Dennis and Gloria, he is their son. His childhood was spent in New York City, and he was a teenager when his family made the move to State College, Pennsylvania.

During his time at State College Area High School, Rhule starred at linebacker, a position he carried with him to Penn State on a walk-on basis.
