Matt Rhule Net Worth: 2022| How Much Does He Make a Year?
Coach and former player for the Carolina Panthers, Matt Rhule is a familiar face in the NFL. At Baylor and Temple, he led the teams as head coach.
The Bears were 11-3 in the following season. After that, Rhule tried playing in the NFL, only to learn the hard way that he and his playing style weren’t suited to the league (let alone without a quality quarterback). After a 1–4 start and 11 wins over two and a half seasons, the Carolina Panthers fired him on Monday.
Early Life
At the ripe old age of 47, Matthew Kenneth Rhule was born in New York, New York on January 31, 1975. A product of the union between Dennis and Gloria, he is their son. His childhood was spent in New York City, and he was a teenager when his family made the move to State College, Pennsylvania.
During his time at State College Area High School, Rhule starred at linebacker, a position he carried with him to Penn State on a walk-on basis.
Rhule was a three-time Penn State Scholar-Athlete and 1997 Academic All-Big Ten honoree while playing football for four years at Penn State under Joe Paterno.
Rhule received his BA in political science from Penn State. In 2003, he graduated from the University at Buffalo with a master’s degree in educational psychology.
Career
After Matt Rhule’s playing days were done, the college hired him to coach their linebackers. After spending a year at Albright, Rhule moved on to Buffalo, UCLA, and Western Carolina before landing a job coaching the defensive line for Temple in 2006. In 2007, Rhule became Temple’s quarterbacks coach, and in 2008, he was promoted to offensive coordinator.
After Steve Addazio left to become the head coach at Boston College on December 17, 2012, Temple hired Rhule to be their 26th head football coach.
Rhule signed a four-year extension with Temple in July 2015, keeping him in Philadelphia until the end of the 2021 season. This contract was renegotiated to keep Rhule at the university after he had another fantastic year in his third with the Owls. Both Mizzou and Syracuse pursued him, but he decided to stay at Temple.

How Much Money Do You Think Matt Rhule Will Have in 2022?
In 2020, the ex-Panthers head coach is projected to have a net worth of $20 million. In any case, that was before he signed a contract with the Carolina Panthers. He has coached previously at Albright College, Temple University, the New York Giants, and other schools before landing at Baylor.
Matt Rhule’s Salary Details Are Discussed in Detail.
The Carolina Panthers signed him to a seven-year, $62 million contract, paying him $8.8 million per year. When he was hired, he was the NFL’s sixth highest-paid head coach.
Players contracts need to be guaranteed like coaches. Matt Rhule is owed more than 40 million dollars from the Panthers after they fired him 3 years into a 7 year deal. They are paying him not to coach. Players put their bodies and minds on the line and deserve guaranteed deals.

The contract could have been worth as much as $70 million if the coach had met his or her incentive goals. His record of 11 wins while with the Panthers suggests he may have fallen short of expectations.
House
In 2020, after being hired as the head coach of the Carolina Panthers, Rhule and his family made the difficult decision to sell their home in Waco, Texas. His home in the prestigious Woodway area of town was advertised for $2.5 million.
This 8,000 square foot mansion has five bedrooms, a theatre room, a pool house, a wine cellar, a dog park, and a fire pit. The house was listed with Magnolia Realty, run by Chip and Joanna Gaines of HGTV fame.

Baylor
In a press release dated December 6th, 2016, Baylor University announced that Rhule had replaced interim head coach Jim Grobe with himself as the head football coach. Having finished the season with a dismal 1-11 record, Baylor did not make a bowl for the first time since 2009.
Baylor went 6-6 during the regular season in 2018, earning an invitation to the 2018 Texas Bowl. There, he led the Bears to a 45-38 victory over the Vanderbilt Commodores, giving Baylor a 7-6 overall record.

Following an 11-1 regular season under Rhule’s direction, the Baylor Bears were defeated by Oklahoma in the Big 12 title game and by Georgia in the Sugar Bowl. Rhule’s teams at Baylor were 0–0 against ranked opponents during his tenure.
During Rhule’s tenure as a college head coach, he shepherded the careers of several future NFL stars.
Relationship
As of this writing, Matt Rhule has tied the knot with his longtime sweetheart, Julie Rhule. Bryant Rhule and Vivienne Rhule are two of the couple’s three children who have achieved prominence.
The Panthers’ first game of the 2021 NFL season was a victory under Rhule’s direction, a 19-14 decision over the New York Jets on September 12.
Giants of New York
Six years after joining the coaching staff at Temple, Rhule became an assistant offensive line coach for the New York Giants under Tom Coughlin in the 2012 season, the year after the team won its fourth Super Bowl. Rhule coached future Hall of Famers David Diehl, Kevin Boothe, and Chris Snee while at the helm of the New York Giants.
Panthers of Carolina
On January 7, 2020, the Carolina Panthers hired Matt Rhule as their fifth head coach. Since Rhule took over, the Panthers’ defence has drastically improved, moving up from the league’s second-worst in points allowed to the league’s fifteenth-best in 2019.
While Rhule’s first season in Carolina “hasn’t gotten off to a perfect start,” the publication Bleacher Report noted that “the Panthers appear to be trending in the right direction.”
Rhule’s first game in charge of an NFL team ended in defeat against the Las Vegas Raiders by a score of 30-34 on September 13, 2020.
Rhule defeated the Los Angeles Chargers, 21-16, on September 27, 2020, to earn his first victory as an NFL head coach. Panthers first season under Rhule ended with a 5-11 record and a third place finish in the NFC South.
