GCU Student Portal: Here You Get Information on Student Records and Registration!
A new Student Information Management System is being implemented at your university. You can use a student portal as part of this upgrade. When the new system goes live in 2022/23, there will be changes to how you sign up and handle your payments. For more information, please see the information below.
Student Records and Registration
The student portal is where you will sign up for your class. This means checking and updating your personal information, such as your address and contact information. It also means reviewing your course and fee payment information and making sure you agree to our terms and conditions.
We’ll let people sign up for courses in stages during August. When your system is ready, we’ll send you an email. For students in some part-time and distance learning courses, we will attach the modules you will finish this year so that the system can figure out your fees before you register.
New Student Registration
Once your course starts, we’ll send you an email with your username, password, and registration instructions, as long as you’ve accepted an unconditional offer and done anything else our admissions team has asked you to do, like paid a deposit if you’re an international student or told us if you’ve been convicted of a crime.
You can check your other information and upload a picture of yourself in a passport style. This picture will be used on your student ID card.
Continuing Student Registration
Again, classes will open in stages starting in early August, but this year, you won’t be able to sign up until you know whether you’ll be continuing or repeating in the next school year. So, if you have retakes, you won’t be able to sign up until you get an email with your results.
In another change, students who started a trimester B course in January 2022 and were charged for the whole year won’t have to register again until January 2023. We’ll send you an email to your university account when it’s time for you to sign up.
Your Student Record
Once you’ve signed up, you’ll be able to look at your registration information and change your address, phone number, and emergency contact. You can ask for a letter proving that you are a student, for example, to open a bank account or to apply for a discount or exemption on your council tax in a city other than Glasgow.
Most of the time, this will be sent to the Program Leader for approval. You can check to see if it has been approved, rejected, or is still in the process.
Through the student portal, you can log in and click on “My Finance” to manage your finances as a GCU student.
You can pay online using a debit or credit card with WPM or an international or domestic bank transfer with Flywire. This is possible through the student portal. You can pay some of your fees now and the rest before your program starts (see details of the terms and conditions that apply on the Scholarships page) to get the early payment discount. You can also check your account balance and view, print, or download your fee invoices and receipts for payments you have made to us.
During online registration, you can also pay your tuition bill or set up a payment plan if you can pay in installments. During registration, real-time fees will be shown, taking into account any scholarships or discounts, confirmed sponsorships, and advance payments already made. This way, you can see the amount you still need to pay.
If you are a sponsored student, you can give billing information about your sponsoring organization and upload your sponsor letter or purchase order. On the student portal, you can see your complete financial statement. You can also see invoices sent to your sponsor and check to see if they have been paid. This gives you complete control over your account, and you can then ask your sponsor about any outstanding balances.
