Storiesig: Here is Everything That You Want to Know About It!
People usually share where they go, what they eat and drink, who they see, and what is most memorable on Instagram Stories. These are seconds-long glimpses of people’s lives that can only be seen on Instagram for 24 hours.
We’ve put together a guide to help you learn what Instagram Stories are, how to share them with your followers, and how to make sure those Stories are exactly what your audience wants to see.
What is Instagram Stories?
An Instagram Story is a feature inside the app that lets users share content that will only be around for 24 hours. With Instagram’s current user interface, a gradient border around the user’s profile picture shows which Stories were just posted.
Your Instagram Story is posted separately from the posts in your feed. Even if you know how to share photos and videos, the app has hidden tools that can make the ones you add to your Story more creative and exciting.
How do Instagram Stories work?
You can add stickers, time stamps, doodles, and specific filters and effects to your Instagram Stories when you post them.
If your account is public, anyone can see your Story. If your account is private, only people who follow you can see your Story.
People can respond to your Story directly through a direct message (DM), like it, or share it with their followers. In your app’s settings, you can turn off replies if you want to.
You can also see who has seen it by opening your Story and swiping it on your screen.
Instagram Stories vs. Instagram Story Highlights
With Instagram Stories, you can post content that will only be available for up to 24 hours. Instagram Story Highlights are groups of Instagram Stories users have saved and put on their profiles.
Brands and people who make content often use Highlights to repurpose their content and add another curation element to their profile.
It’s a great place to share user-generated content, customer reviews, and frequently asked questions (FAQs). You can share anything that doesn’t quite fit in the feed but is helpful to your audience.
Why Should You Use Instagram Stories?
You can get a lot of engagement and value from Instagram Stories, whether you share them from a brand account or your profile.
Instagram Stories have helped the growth of brands like Anima Iris and Glamnetic.
If a publisher wants to raise brand awareness, get more people to watch videos or sign up for newsletters outside of Instagram, or share sponsored posts, they can use Instagram Stories to share fun content that disappears after 24 hours that shows the brand’s voice and personality without taking too much of the average user’s time.
That’s why Instagram Stories are short and only stay on the platform for a short time.
How long are Instagram Stories?
Instagram Stories stay on your profile for 24 hours before disappearing, but a video can only be 15 seconds long before it cuts to the next piece of content. You can also use a third-party app to cut a longer video into 15-second pieces that you can add to your Story.
Like Instagram Stories only stay up for 24 hours before going away, the photos and videos people look at and play with only stay up for a certain amount of time.
Generally, each video you add to your Instagram Story can roll for no longer than 15 seconds. For example, if you add a one-minute video to your Instagram Story, it will be split into 15-second segments.
How to View Instagram Stories
When you use the Instagram mobile app, Instagram Stories appear at the top of the screen.
Because Instagram Stories are often the first thing, people see when they open the app, they can get a lot of attention and help you get more people to look at your regular photo gallery.
We’ll talk about how to look at Instagram Stories.
Open Instagram and Navigate to the Home Screen
To start looking at Instagram Stories, open the Instagram app on your phone and tap the home icon in the bottom left corner of the screen.
Once you’re on Instagram’s home screen, you’ll see a row of round icons along the top. Each of these represents an active Story posted by a user you follow.
You can see your own story on the far left of the Stories you follow.
Tap on a Circular Icon to View That User’s Story
Each circular icon at the top of your home screen will have a gradient circle around it to show that the user has recently posted a Story.
Tap it to see more of the user’s Story. It will automatically play and then move on to the following user’s Story.
Tap Left and Right to Explore a User’s Story
A single Instagram Story can have many different photos and videos linked together in the order they were shared.
Tap the screen on the left to see Stories from before. Tap on the right to see the most recent Stories. You’ll see a list of Stories, from the oldest to the most recent.
You can easily skip some Stories by tapping to the right.
Use an Instagram Story Viewer to View Stories Privately
Did you know that you can view Stories without the user knowing if you use a third-party tool?
If you’re looking for freelancers and don’t want them to see you first, you might want to do this. Some Story viewers let you save copies of the Stories automatically, while others will charge you to keep copies of new Stories automatically.
One of these apps is Inflict. You can read stories online, so you don’t have to download an app. You can search for any username, and copies of the Stories posted by that username will show up.
You need to sign up for an account. Here’s how that looks in the Instagram Story viewer on Ingram:

Open Up the Instagram App and Tap Your Profile Picture Near the Upper Left-hand Corner
Open the Instagram app and click on your profile picture in the top left to start a Story. You can swipe to the right or click the plus sign near the top right.
If you click the plus sign, you’ll be asked to make a post instead of a Story. Choose Story at the bottom right to get to the Story creator.
Choose a Filter and Image Capture Mode
When you start making your Story, you can swipe left and right on the filter carousel at the bottom of the screen to choose a filter.
You can choose a filter and a “capture mode” when you take a picture or video from the app. On the left side of the screen, you can see the choices.
Normal means not picking anything. It means exactly what it says: if you tap the camera button once, you’ll take a picture, and if you hold it down, you’ll record a video.
Instagram Stories can only be 15 seconds long, so if you want to share a longer video, you’ll need to film it in 15-second segments or break it up into multiple 15-second clips.
When you click on Create, you’ll be taken to a screen where you can start from scratch and make a Story. You can choose stickers, add gifs, and write text on this screen.
In Boomerang mode, you can make GIFs that loop for up to three seconds.
Layout mode takes you to a screen with four squares, each of which can hold a different photo. You can change how the grid looks.
With multi-capture mode, you can take photos and videos one after the other without uploading them to your Story separately.
In Photobooth mode, you can take four photos that will then show up in your Story in order. A flash in between makes it look like the pictures were taken in an actual photo booth.
Use hands-free mode if you want to set up your camera to record a video for you. Make sure to put it somewhere stable before you start recording. In a minute, we’ll talk more about this feature.
If you choose the level option, a grid will appear on your camera. This will help you line up objects so that they are straight. To take pictures, you can combine this option with others, like multi-capture and photo booths.
Capture a Photo or Video Using the Camera
Now that you’ve chosen a filter and a mode for taking pictures, you can start filming and making content. Hold the button down to record a video, and tap once to take a picture.
You can change the filter if you don’t like it. Stickers, text, and drawings can also be added.
Once You’ve Edited Your Photo or Video, Tap “Your Story.”
By tapping the “Download” icon at the top, you can also save your edited photo or video to your gallery.
