Mets 100 Win Seasons Release Date: How All 30 Mlb Teams Finished the 2022 Regular Season!
There is still a big gap between baseball’s winners and losers.
This lack of parity in the regular season means that games aren’t as close, that division races aren’t as interesting, and that fewer teams and fan bases have hopes of making the playoffs.
There were nine teams with 90 or more wins, and four got to 100. On the other hand, nine teams lost 90 games or more during the regular season of 2022, and four lost more than 100 games.
Here’s how each team did in the end:
How All 30 MLB Teams Finished this Season
There were nine teams with 90 or more wins, and four got to 100. On the other hand, nine teams lost 90 games or more during the regular season of 2022, and four lost more than 100 games.
Even in a league with many good teams, teams that quickly become World Series favorites are not guaranteed to do well in the postseason.
The three triple-digit winners from last season learned this the hard way. The 107-win San Francisco Giants and 100-win Tampa Bay Rays were eliminated in the division series. The 106-win Los Angeles Dodgers lost in the NLCS to the 88-win Atlanta Braves, who had the fewest wins of any postseason team and went on to win the championship.

The last team to win the title more than once was the New York Yankees, who did it three times in a row from 1998 to 2000. Since then, it has been won by 15 different teams.
Once the playoffs start, anything can happen. Even though MLB keeps adding more teams that can qualify, the hard part is getting there for groups almost mathematically out of the race before the All-Star break.
But things can change very quickly. The Baltimore Orioles, one of two teams that lost 110 games in 2021, is the most recent example.

How All 30 MLB Teams Finished in 2021
Spotrac says that the Orioles will have the third-lowest payroll in the league in 2022, at $64.8 million. They finished with an 83-79 record in the American League East, which was the most competitive division in the league, and they were still running for the playoffs for most of the season. However, they improved by more than 30 wins from one season to the next.
Even though the Orioles are an outlier this season, the big difference in the league’s win-loss records is usually linked to the big difference in the teams’ payrolls. The Houston Astros, the Los Angeles Dodgers, and the New York Mets all won 100 or more games this season.

The Boston Red Sox spent the most money but didn’t make the playoffs. They paid out more than $223 million in salaries and finished with a 77-84 record. The Chicago White Sox ($208.3 million) and the Los Angeles Angels ($192.9 million) also spent a lot for their seasons ending on October 5.
Those three teams have three of the four highest payrolls in the league. The other nine teams with salaries in the top 12 made it to the playoffs. The three lower-budget teams that will make up the 12-team playoff field are the Tampa Bay Rays (86-75, $99.5 million payroll), the Seattle Mariners (90-72, $128.7 million), and the Cleveland Guardians (92-70, $82 million payroll). The Seattle Mariners ended the league’s longest playoff drought by making the playoffs for the first time since 2001.
In 2021, seven of the 10 playoff teams had payrolls in the top 11. In 2020, when the season was cut short because of a pandemic, eight teams from each league made the playoffs.
