Alix Earle Apologizes Profoundly for Past Use of Racial Slur in Recently Unearthed Social Media Posts

For her racist words from her adolescent years on social media, Alix Earle has issued an apology.

On Monday, August 26, Earle, 23, released a statement on her Instagram Stories and TikTok account following the internet circulation of several of her posts in which she used the N-word.

The TikToker stated, “A few weeks ago, screenshots from my old ask.fm account surfaced showing me using a slur in the summer of 2014.”

“I accept responsibility for my actions and would like to clarify that, at the age of 13, I was unaware of the extremely derogatory connotation of such term such is not a justification for using such word at any age or in any situation. I do not advocate for or speak in that manner at all.

“I am truly sorry that my words have hurt many people and have given people the impression that I am prejudiced in any way,” she said. That could not be further from the truth, I assure you. I shall persist in my focus on positivity, entertainment, and upliftment for others as my platform. I truly apologize to everyone I may have upset.

Earle expressed sorrow for her handling of the incident, claiming that she let too many people talk her out of speaking up for too long. I was unsure of how to approach it, and regrettably, the well-meaning counsel I received proved to be incorrect.

“No one but myself is to blame for not standing my ground and following my instinct to speak out right away,” the woman declared.

For a response, Us Weekly has contacted Earle’s representative.

The influencer, who has more than 7 million TikTok followers and runs the podcast “Hot Mess With Alix Earle,” continued, “my silence allowed others to fill the void with rumors that simply aren’t true.”

She referenced rumors that a brand had said they were ending their connection with her, despite the fact that they had never discussed a partnership in any capacity, and that she had attempted to trademark her previous posts, both of which were utterly absurd and inaccurate.

She concluded by writing, “I wanted to come on here to confront the facts and most importantly apologize, regardless of what’s being said online.”
