Redditor MobileWisdom shared a video showing ICE officers arresting several men in Rochester, New York. The arrest of a man claiming to be a legal US citizen has sparked questions about the competence of the agents involved and the tactics employed during these arrests.
The video shows the agents approaching a truck and yelling, “Are you opening this or not?” The sound of breaking glass is then heard, followed by officers opening the vehicle doors and pulling the occupants out. When asked for a warrant, an agent confirms they have one. The agents then proceed to forcefully remove the men from the vehicle and line them up on the sidewalk.
One of the men repeatedly states, “I’m a citizen.” However, the agents seemingly disregard his claim and continue with the arrest. He identifies himself as Jose Castor, stating, “I’m a citizen here. They just bashed my car window.” ICE agents question him about weapons, to which he responds, “We are working. Why would we have weapons?”
As the situation unfolds, one of the individuals filming becomes emotional, while another remarks, “This is what America voted for,” before entering their home.
This incident has generated anger within the Reddit community, with users expressing their opinions on the matter.
“Gotta make their 3,000 arrests per day somehow.” – Iworshopokkotto via Reddit.
“They didn’t arrest him. They didn’t have a warrant. They kidnapped him. They disappeared him. They snatched and grabbed him off the street.” – SeparateCzechs via Reddit.
The current status of those arrested remains unclear. However, recent instances suggest they may have been wrongfully arrested due to racial profiling by ICE, a situation faced by other citizens.
