Official information:
- Part of the storyline takes place in Japan and Avalon, France
- Emma Kegan is the CEO of the new faction called The Guild in 2035
- No Blackout 2.0 mode
- Co-op story mode included
- David Mason returns as the main character
- Raul Menendez also returns
- The story is set in the year 2035, a decade after events of Black Ops 2
Leaks & Rumors:
- Open-world Campaign missions
- Players will operate under David Mason’s command
- Most Campaign missions will take place in Avalon
The Black Ops 7 teaser trailer showcased during the Xbox Showcase was unlike anything previously seen in Call of Duty. Raul Menendez’s return signals the game’s identity, set in 2035. The Guild, featured in Black Ops 6, has evolved into tech innovators specializing in advanced weapons and robots.
According to Miles Leslie from the official Call of Duty podcast, Emma Kegan, the CEO of The Guild in 2035, plays a significant role in the story. Portrayed as an antagonist aligned with Raul Menendez in the teaser, the campaign promises psychological twists, urging players to trust no one.
Also confirmed in COD POD episode 006, Avalon shown in the teaser trailer is part of the Campaign, meaning no wing suits or Blackout 2.0 mode will appear this year, keeping Warzone relevant for longer. Additionally, letters displayed in the trailer confirm Japan as one of the Campaign locations.
The Campaign includes a co-op mode, reintroduced from its debut in 2008’s Call of Duty: World At War. Rumors suggest players will assume roles as operators with hero-shooter elements, with David Mason expected to play a leading part.

Official details:
- Brand-new Multiplayer maps
- No jetpacks
- Wall jumping and enhanced Omni-movement system
- Scorestreaks such as an improved version of the Claw featured in the teaser
Leaks & Rumors:
- Wall running as a movement mechanic
- Tactical rolling movement
- Some remastered maps from Black Ops 2
- Sledgehammer Games is responsible for the Multiplayer mode development
Before the official reveal of Black Ops 7, many fans anticipated numerous remastered maps from Black Ops 2, especially since MWIII in 2023 included 16 remastered maps from the original MW2. However, an official post by Call of Duty on X confirmed the inclusion of “Brand-new MP Maps.”
Treyarch confirmed that Black Ops 7 will not include jetpacks like in Black Ops 3 and 4 but will feature an enhanced Omni-movement system. Although details about this new iteration are limited, the game includes wall jumping, which appears to be a simplified form of wall running. Additionally, many drones and bots shown in the teaser function as Scorestreaks.
Leaks hint at exciting features such as the return of wall running, a popular mechanic in futuristic Call of Duty titles like Advanced Warfare and Black Ops 3. Evidence in Black Ops 6 and Warzone files suggests wall running is almost certain in 2025’s Call of Duty.
Another leaked movement feature is tactical rolling, revealed nearly two years ago for Black Ops 7, allowing players to roll upon landing to reduce fall damage. This mechanic has appeared in some Battlefield games and is now set to debut in Call of Duty.
BLACK OPS 7 ZOMBIES: EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW

Official information:
- Round-Based Zombies is the primary focus
Leaks & Rumors:
- No Outbreak or open-world Zombies mode
- All maps set within the Dark Aether
- The original Zombies crew will return
- Grief mode included
- Classic mode making a comeback
According to leaks and rumors about Black Ops 7, the Zombies mode will be a major focus in this year’s Call of Duty. Official posts on X have confirmed Round-Based Zombies as the main game mode. Although there is no confirmation on the return of Outbreak or open-world maps, leaks suggest Black Ops 7 may include the largest Zombies map yet, possibly Tranzit 2.0.
Notably, Black Ops 7 appears to be the first Call of Duty in years to reintroduce the Classic mode for Zombies, where players start with only a pistol and must survive by acquiring weapons from the mystery box or wall buys and upgrading them. An 8-player mode, presumed to be Grief from Black Ops 6, is also rumored.
Adding credibility to the leaked information, the original Zombies characters—Richtofen, Dempsey, Nikolai, and Takeo—are said to return in Black Ops 7. For more, see 10 Best Edward Richtofen Quotes in Call of Duty Zombies History.
