According to The Mary Sue, everything began when Kelsey posted in her city’s Facebook “girls group” seeking recommendations. This resulted in her hiring a housekeeper, who initially seemed trustworthy and about Byron’s age, even described as very friendly.
After some time, Byron requested the housekeeper to do a move-out cleaning. During the open house setup, the housekeeper invited her sister to assist. However, one of Kelsey’s friends noticed that the sister wasn’t actually cleaning but was instead chatting with friends and her sister. This observation led Kelsey to decide it was time to find a new cleaning service, likely preferring a housekeeper who genuinely cleans.

After parting ways with the housekeeper, Kelsey’s family traveled to Mexico, where they had a bizarre experience. Byron’s sister received an alarming phone call from someone claiming to have kidnapped Kelsey. A man’s voice on the line desperately pleaded for help and demanded $1,500 for her release.
Frightened while abroad, the family paid the ransom. TikTok viewers expressed astonishment, with one commenter stating, “This is wild.”
In the following months, Kelsey continued noticing unusual activity: odd credit card charges and sudden fluctuations in her credit score. Worse still, multiple credit card applications were made in her name.
