Bandai Namco Unveils Little Nightmares Showcase Event for Next Week

The excitement of the E3 season may have passed, yet the showcases continue to roll in. The latest publisher to join the fray is Bandai Namco, which has revealed a dedicated showcase for Little Nightmares 3 set to air on June 24. This news comes as a surprise for several reasons, but it’s refreshing to see the eerie side-scroller getting its share of attention.

The forthcoming title is the much-anticipated sequel to Little Nightmares 2, arriving four years after the release of its predecessor. Little Nightmares 3 was initially announced during Gamescom Opening Night Live in 2023, and the reveal trailer concluded with a release window set for 2024. However, those plans have since changed as the game faced delays and is now set for a release in 2025, without a specific date mentioned.

In October 2024, we were treated to a chilling story trailer that showcased the game’s dark atmosphere and co-op gameplay elements, but there has been little communication from the developers since then. This prolonged silence has caused some uncertainty among its devoted fanbase, making the recent announcement a welcome relief.

The Little Nightmares showcase is scheduled for June 24, 2025, at 12 PM PST. Make sure to mark your calendars with the timings mentioned above.

Interestingly, it’s worth noting that Little Nightmares 3 opted for a dedicated showcase rather than securing a slot during the widely-celebrated Summer Games Fest. Many fans anticipated the latter, especially since the game was unveiled during an event curated by Geoff Keighley. Regardless, the showcase is expected to provide a final release date, and potentially even a playable demo.

It’s important to highlight that Tarsier Studios, the developers responsible for the first two installments, are no longer in charge. They were acquired by the Embracer Group in 2019, which severed their connection with the Bandai Namco-owned intellectual property. Fortunately, the franchise has now been entrusted to Supermassive Games, the distinguished studio known for titles like Until Dawn, The Dark Pictures Anthology, and The Quarry.

So, are you eager to see the showcase? Don’t forget to share your thoughts in the comments!
